Making with 3DW
With the help from technicians in 3DW, I modified my model various times to achieve the perfect curvature through 3D softwares and traditional wood carving. With 3D scanning, we can potentially create more fluid movement in wood.
Jou An Chen
Born in Taiwan, grew up in Shanghai, and now living in New York City, I am an industrial/product designer who loves to marry seemingly unconnected objects with one another. My mother told me when I was two years old I would spend hours scribbling on a note pad or ‘reading’ the newspaper. Employing 3D modeling, traditional woodworking, metalworking, and my love of drawing, I have made furnitures, spatial renderings, scooters, rainboots and explored speculative spatial projects on Mars and on aquatic environments. I believe in imagined futures and products created with thought. jou-anchen.com (website in making)
